Fern White, Hawaii's Leading Lady Rider,
has qualified her American Quater Horse,
Royal Merrimaid for the 2000 AQHA World Championships
Show, November 5-10 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.
White is one of more than 3,500 entries than
will compete at this prestigious invitational
show, and white will compete in the Open
Senior Barrel Racing.
To qualify for the AQHA World Chamionship
show, a horse must earn points at the American
Quater Horse Shows between August 1, 1999
and July 31, 2000. Because hawai'i is non
contigious horses and riders mustbe the top
in the state. AQHA sanctioned shows are held
on Oahu and the Big Island; th road to qualification
is demanding and difficult. As such Hawi'i's
representation at the World has even greater
significance.
